⇒  To encourage, co-ordinate and promote the activities of advanced study and research in all branches of earth sciences with special emphasis on problems of Indian Geology.

⇒  To collaborate and co-operate with various national and international institutions related to the study of earth sciences to further the objectives.

⇒  To establish and maintain a research and reference library in pursuance of the objectives of the Congress.

⇒  To organise biennial sessions of the Congress at different places in      India for presentation, discussion and dissemination of the results of studies related to problems of earth sciences,  those of India in particular.

⇒  To publish bulletins, monographs, memoirs, transactions, etc., dealing with earth science problems.
